Now, in many places across the country, motorcycles are either banned or motorcycle licenses are artificially driven to sky-high prices, making it almost a luxury for people who want to use cheaper and more convenient means of transportation to get around. 🚦 This has added a huge barrier for motorcycle enthusiasts, and even worse, the rising ownership threshold has fostered a trend of showing off expensive motorcycles, which is poisoning the moral and ethical standards of society. Is this a blessing or a curse?

Come and see why we’re more than just a shop; we’re a place of endless possibilities! ✨
In the motorcycle world, Honda is undoubtedly a world-class manufacturer. 🏆 Its R&D capabilities and scale are far beyond those brands that some people perceive as luxury-level. 🧠 To judge an automotive company’s strength, it’s not about extreme performance. Think Ferrari vs. Toyota — impressive doesn't mean big. The same applies to motorcycles: Honda dominates.
Honda once launched a motorcycle with only a 50cc engine. In today’s traffic, 50cc might seem worthless or even like a road obstacle. But back in our fathers’ era, the name Honda Super Cub was considered legendary.
This is the first-generation Super Cub launched between 1958 and 1960. Its design combined the low floor platform of European scooters, which made it easy to get on and off, and used large-diameter wheels like traditional motorcycles to ensure ride comfort and capability. If motorcycles were categorized like bicycles into men's and women's models, then the Super Cub would be a remix of the two.
💡 Why was it born? In 1956, Soichiro Honda and his partner Takeo Fujisawa visited Germany and saw how light motorcycles were flourishing. That sparked the idea of creating a 50cc bike.
Honda focused on engineering. Fujisawa handled strategy and sales. He didn’t just want high production — he wanted wide adoption, cutting cost per unit, and boosting profitability. So they needed a bike that was affordable, durable, and simple to maintain.
➡️ In 1966, the Super Cub 50 launched — and it’s still in production today.
They aimed not only to sell locally but also to export globally. 🌍 From 1959 to 1964, Honda set up networks in the USA, Germany, Belgium, UK, and France — not for sports cars, but for the Super Cub.
🔧 It adopted an underbone frame, later copied widely, based on the German Kreidler K50.
From 1958 to 2017, Super Cub sold 100 million units worldwide. 💯
In the consumer world, that’s legendary.
🗯 Slogan power:
“You meet the nicest people on a Honda.”
This tagline struck deep among students and young riders — and beat Harley-Davidson in America. 🇺🇸
Without U.S. trade protection, Harley might’ve gone bankrupt — just like what later happened with Toyota and is happening with Huawei now.
🧩 Ride Feel: Smart Design
The engine was placed low and central — uncommon, but brilliant:
-
Lower center of gravity = 🚴♂️ better control
-
More foot room & cargo space
-
Stable and comfortable over long rides
💪 Plus: 17-inch wheels provide better handling than most scooters.
That’s why it still dominates Southeast Asia and shines in economic downturns.
🔥 Reliability That Became Legend
The original engine:
-
50cc OHV, air-cooled, single-cylinder
-
4.5 hp @ 9500 rpm
📺 One TV show tested it with tempura oil instead of motor oil. Still ran fine.
Some users never changed oil — and it just kept going.
Durable? Understatement.
Even with fry grease in the engine and a back seat full of pizza and watermelon 🍕🍉 — it conquered mountain roads.
Why?
-
Low stress on parts
-
Heat and oil demands were minimal
-
Built to survive abuse

📈 Variants & Brand Legacy
Later came 70cc, 90cc, 100cc, and 110cc versions — but none over 125cc.
Next step up: CG125.
📆 From 1958 to 2025 — 67 years — it’s still alive and kicking on roads around the world.
A true living fossil on two wheels.
❤️ Why Honda Wins
In Southeast Asia, for many, the Super Cub was their first motor vehicle.
It was trustworthy — so when it came time to upgrade, guess who they trusted?
Honda.
🧠 That’s called: Brand Loyalty.
