Come and see why we’re more than just a shop; we’re a place of endless possibilities! 🌈
If you don’t, no worries 😊. Let’s take a brief recap 🔁. This small and adorable-looking car was actually not simple at all! It was developed and produced under the leadership of Hirotoshi Honda, son of Soichiro Honda and one of the founders of Mugen 🏎️. He turned an unremarkable compact car into a legend 🔥 among car enthusiasts. That car was the first-generation Honda City Turbo II, chassis code AA.
🚫 Sadly, the City Turbo II was only released in one generation, and by October 1986, the “Bulldog” had officially become a historical model 📜.
🚗 After adding a wide body, the Honda E no longer looks as cute as the original
This is the first-generation City Turbo II (AA), which was once nicknamed the “Bulldog” 🐕.
❓ So, does the “Bulldog” in the title mean Honda is reviving the City Turbo II?
Or maybe launching a new model that can rival it? Actually — no ❌. Quite the opposite — the car being referred to may only resemble the original City in appearance, and otherwise has nothing to do with the City.
Oh, and it's fully electric⚡.
🤔 I bet many of you already guessed it — it’s the Honda E 🔌, Honda’s modern compact EV.
🛠️ It gives off an aggressive vibe, reminding us of the old City Turbo II
Here’s why we used the “Bulldog” title — I recently saw an awesome Honda E mod on Instagram 📱 that immediately reminded me of the legendary Turbo II.
This Honda E was customized by a company called Innovate Composites 🛠️. They fitted it with an exaggerated wide-body aero kit that’s not just for looks 👀.
Examples include:
-
Canards on the front bumper 🌀
-
A massive rear diffuser 🧱
These are features straight out of a race car 🏁.
Once this kit was installed, the Honda E became visually bolder 😎. What’s more, the overall vibe instantly sparks memories of the City Turbo II — for a moment, it really feels like the Bulldog is back 💥!
🔚 The rear-end is even more exaggerated but equally full of fighting spirit 💪
But — let’s be honest — just looking like the Bulldog isn’t enough.
To earn that name, the Honda E needs performance upgrades ⚙️, just like the City Turbo II had back in the day.
That said, the company hasn’t revealed any powertrain modifications. Also, we noticed there are no exhaust pipes at the back 🚫, confirming that it's still just an electric car ⚡.
💭 What if we swapped the motor?
If this company were to swap the electric drivetrain for a gasoline engine 🔧, the fun level would shoot through the roof 🚀.
In fact, it wouldn’t be too hard! I’ve even thought of the engine: no need for a red-top (high-power VTEC) 🟥. Just use the L15B series — it's lighter ⚖️ and keeps the car well-balanced 🧘.
Why skip the red-top? Easy — it’s heavy and front-biased, making the car nose-heavy and affecting handling negatively ⚠️.
🐕 If this build really happened, it would deserve to be called the “Bulldog” again
Just imagining it makes me excited 🥹.
But in the end, it's just a dream 💭 — because Honda has officially entered the electric era 🌍⚡. Any future version of the Honda E will remain pure electric.
So let’s cherish our gasoline-powered machines while we still can ⛽❤️.
