5-3-1 Layout for improved torque performance
Key Specifications:

G20A:

Displacement: 1,996cc
Bore x Stroke: 82mm x 75.6mm
Valve Train: SOHC
Max Power: 165 HP
Max Torque: 186 Nm
G25A:

Displacement: 2,451cc
Bore x Stroke: 85mm x 86.4mm
Valve Train: SOHC
Max Power: 190 HP
Max Torque: 237 Nm
Due to market and model differences, G20A engines ranged between 150-165 HP, while G25A included variants like the 190 HP version, G25A1, and G25A4.

🔩 Applications and Design
The G Series engines were tilted 35° during installation to lower the engine height and manage vibrations unique to the inline-five layout. These engines primarily powered high-end Accord derivatives.

Notable Models:

1989 Inspire AX-i (CB5): Marketed as a premium Accord sibling, its design benefited from the tilted engine’s lower hood profile.
1993 Ascot 2.0 CS (CE4): Released in 1995, featuring the G20A engine.
Rafaga: Shared Ascot’s mechanicals but sold via a different dealership network.
The Legacy of Honda’s G Series
Honda’s inline five-cylinder journey ended in October 1998, leaving behind a brief but notable chapter in its history. While Audi continues to revisit the inline-five, Honda is unlikely to revive this configuration.

💡 A Unique Milestone:
The G Series remains a fascinating example of Honda’s engineering prowess, pushing boundaries even in niche engine designs.
