Today, the editor will introduce you to Honda's factories. π
Hondaβs very first factory established was not responsible for vehicle production π«π but was a transmission manufacturing factory. This factory was established in April 1954, located in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan π―π΅. Hamamatsu is also the birthplace of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. π’ This transmission manufacturing factory currently handles the installation of AT, CVT, and Sport Hybrid motors. βοΈ
The second factory was established in 1960, in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan β the Suzuka Plant. π At the time of establishment, this Suzuka factory produced C100, NC60 motorcycles ποΈ, as well as the TN360 truck π in 1967, the H1300 sedan π in 1969, and the first generation Civic in 1972. Currently, this factory mainly produces Hondaβs N-series Kei Cars π and some hybrid models. In addition, the Suzuka Plant also undertakes the task of providing technical support to overseas factories π and supplying parts. π οΈ
The annual total production of the Suzuka Plant is 530,000 units. π
The third factory was established in May 1964, located in Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan πΎ. This Sayama Plant is capable of completing all procedures from engine production, body stamping, welding, painting, and installation of vehicle parts to the final complete vehicle assembly ποΈβit is an integrated production factory. A feature of this factory is that multiple models can be assembled on the same production line π because the equipment is versatile and can quickly adapt to demand.
Currently, this factory mainly produces the StepWgn, Odyssey, Legend, and Clarity PHEV models. π However, in Saitama Prefecture, it is not just the Sayama Plantβthere are two more plants: Yorii Complete Vehicle Plant and Ogawa Engine Plant. ππ These three plants function as one entity. π€
The annual total production of the Sayama Plant is 250,000 units. π
Letβs take a look at the Yorii Complete Vehicle Plant. π It officially began production in July 2013, located in Yorii Town, Osato District, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Like the Sayama Plant, it is also responsible for complete vehicle manufacturing π. Currently produced models include the CR-V, Insight, Honda E, and Freed.
The annual total production of the Yorii Plant is also 250,000 units. π
The final plant in Saitama Prefecture is the Ogawa Engine Plant π©, which officially started production in April 2009, located in Ogawa Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
This plant mainly handles the production of Honda's L15 engines βοΈ, for example: 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine π οΈ, 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine (used for hybrid vehicles) β»οΈ, and the 1.5L turbocharged engine. π
Next comes the Powertrain Manufacturing Plant βοΈ, established in December 1970, located in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan π―π΅. This plant mainly produces engine parts and transmission system parts, such as valves, crankshafts, piston-connecting rod assemblies, CVT pulleys, 4WD transmission systems, differentials, etc. Parts produced by this plant are also shipped to Honda factories around the world. π
The next plant to introduce is the Kumamoto Plant ποΈ. Readers who know about Honda motorcycles should be familiar with it β the Kumamoto Plant is specifically for motorcycle production. It was established in January 1976, located in Ozu Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.
The Kumamoto Plant handles the complete manufacturing process for motorcycles. Even the Motocompo came from the Kumamoto Plant. Currently produced models include: Gold Wing π΅, CB1300, X-ADV, CBR650RR, CRF450R, etc.
Actually, Honda also has Honda Auto Body Co., Ltd. π’. This company was not founded by Honda but was acquired through a joint venture.
Originally named Yachiyo Industry Manufacturing Plant π, it was founded in August 1953, located in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, Japan.
In 1974, Honda and Sankei Giken jointly established Kosei Giken Industries π€. It wasn't until 2006 that Honda increased its investment share to 50.1% and officially merged Yachiyo Industry into a subsidiary.

This company mainly manufactures fuel tanks β½, sunroofs βοΈ, and various other components.
Honda has many factories around the world π, such as in the United States πΊπΈ, the Philippines π΅π, and other countries, producing motorcycles ποΈ, aircraft βοΈ, boat engines π€, etc.
